Happy Heart Month! I added some cutesy hearts and a hashtag where I plan to add another shareable image here and on the Better Than Expected facebook page (Like is if you haven’t already! 🙂 )
I will share last year’s post about heart month. I will also share our story of the journey of Ethan’s heart repair when he was not even a year old!
Ethans flexing and tough face 2 years post open heart surgery (av canal defect)
Interestingly, Ethan’s echocardiogram (like an ultrasound of his heart) is in February, just after Valentines Day. Praying all is well!
Ethan got an upgrade to a twin-sized bed and has done great in staying in the bed once we lie him down, maybe because its more effort to get out than the mattress on the ground (although he certainly did do this at first and has gotten very good at crawling down.) The bed and mattress were gifts from my in-laws, and we gave him the dump truck bedding for Christmas. It was around $60 from Target, Circo brand. Very soft and cute. Since he’s a shortie, we use his infant mattress as a step-down and leave it pulled out overnight so that he does NOT hurt himself if he decides to get out of bed in the dark! We got this rug at IKEA a few years ago (before Ethan arrived) and it goes nicely with this transportation theme we have going. I think it was around $50.
The wooden transportation decorations were already painted and ready to be put up with tape, and I got them at Hobby Lobby for less than 70 cents each. The license plate nametag was a gift from a relative, and we still haven’t hung the “Jesus Loves Me” one that matches. I’ll be adding something else later, but this is the gist of his big boy room now! A little bittersweet, but we plan to have more babies so they can fill the baby shoes later! What will I do when my last baby grows up though? ahh! 😉
Simple, cheap, apartment friendly decorations that will be age appropriate for quite some time. My kinda room!
